The Rev. Eyleen Farmer
Associate Rector

The Rev. Eyleen FarmerThe Rev. Eyleen Farmer rejoined the Calvary staff as Associate Rector in July, 2010. Known for her preaching excellence and pastoral skill, she provides support and leadership for pastoral care and faith formation ministries.

Eyleen received her M.Div. degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 1992, and following her ordination in the Baptist church began an eleven year tenure as a hospice chaplain. Her depth of experience in grief and loss issues equipped her for helping to establish Calvary’s Emmaus Ministry, an end-of-life support initiative. She also has experience working with young people and developed, along with others, a Bible Study through the Arts curriculum for teens.

Eyleen was ordained to the priesthood at Calvary and served here for nearly three years before moving to Maryland with her husband, the Rev. Tom Momberg (rector of All Saints’ in Frederick, MD). She has been a frequent supply preacher in Maryland and has been working on several writing projects.

In addition to her calling to serve Christ in his church, Eyleen considers grandparenting an important part of her vocation. Granddaughters Caroline and Abigail are regular visitors to Calvary; her other grandchildren provide ongoing inspiration to rest and play.

The Venerable Mimsy Jones
Assisting Clergy

The Ven. Mimsy JonesSince being ordained a deacon in 1994, Mimsy has served at Calvary Church, Church of the Holy Communion, St. Thomas, Somerville, and St. James, Bolivar. She enjoys a strong affiliation with the Diocese of West Tennessee, serving as Secretary of the Diocese at Convention and at Bishop and Council.

In her ministry, she seeks above all a wise balance between activity and contemplation. Having been immersed in outreach ministry for years, both before and after ordination, she recently has concentrated on the interior life. She was deeply affected by the training she received with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, finding peace and joy in the presence of children experiencing Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd.

Mimsy believes in the value of silence and stillness and has had the delight of working with the Calvary ECW in planning weekend retreats, and with other Calvary women in forming St. Clare Retreats, monthly silent retreats for women. Mimsy says, "I also have become absorbed in studying and interpreting Holy Scripture, and continue to be inspired by the privilege of 'teaching' women in Bible study."

The Rev. Ellen D. Roberds
Associate Rector

The Rev. Ellen RoberdsEllen Roberds is an ordained Presbyterian minister in the PC (USA).  A native of Memphis, she grew up at Idlewild Presbyterian Church and completed her MDiv at Vanderbilt Divinity School. From 1999 through 2007 she served as the Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church just a few blocks from Calvary where she came to appreciate the good work of this place.

She came on staff to work with Rhodes students through CORE but quickly found a home in the Sunday morning liturgy, pastoral care, and as staff liaison to Calvary's outreach ministries.  Ellen is a mom of three young children, Abram, Obed, and Bella. Her husband, Jarad Bingham, is the pastor at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church. In her spare time (ha!) Ellen is a certified doula, supporting women through the sacred journey of labor and childbirth.

The Rev. Ben G. Robertson, IV
Associate Rector

The Rev. Ben G. Robertson, IVThe Rev. Ben G. Robertson, IV, joined the Calvary team in October 2010.  A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Ben graduated from Kenyon College in 1996 and Virginia Theological Seminary in 2003.  He served as Assistant Rector with St. Matthew's, Louisville and Rector of All Saints', Gastonia, North Carolina before being called to Calvary.  Between college and seminary, Ben served as a Legislative Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Ben's passions in the Church are many, especially ministry with children, youth, young adults, and families.  He also enjoys crafting worship and educational experiences kindled by our grand Anglican tradition that, with hope and faith, brew an encounter with God in this zany, post-modern world.

When not serving the parish, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife Ellen, their daughter Anna and son Henry, and their Golden Retriever Bailey, as well as reading, podcasting, collegiate athletics, and generally being a goofball.  One of Ben's favorite prayers is attributed to 16th Century English Admiral (and notorious pirate) Sir Francis Drake.  A portion reads, "Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas where storms will show your mastery; where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; and to push into the future in strength, courage, hope, and love."
