Sunday Classes - Children

Children's Classes of Godly Play (age 4-5th grade)

10:15-11:00 am

As its foundation for faith formation for ages 4 through 5th grade, Calvary uses Godly Play, an internationally recognized, Montessori-based program developed by an Episcopal priest.

Sunday morning, volunteer-led Godly Play classes follow the 9:00 a.m. worship service and are offered at 10:15 a.m. in the fall, winter, and spring.  A special FUNdays program is held on Sunday mornings during the summer months.

Classes are located in the Atria-Education Wing on the second floor for ages four through sixth grade.  Bible stories are introduced to younger children in childcare in the first-floor Orgill Room.

In a carefully designed environment, children learn to prepare themselves to hear and listen to God's voice through the presentation of sacred, Old and New Testament stories, parables, and liturgical lessons. Godly Play is devoted to awakening children to their relationship with the Creator, and to helping them grow in their relationship to God and others.

Godly Play is the foundation for the Journey to Adulthood program for older youth.  For more information about Godly Play/GROW, contact Heather Anderson.
