On Saturday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, the Flower Guild will hold a workshop aimed specifically at training newcomers in arranging flowers for our altar. If you want to be involved but do not want to arrange the altar flowers, the guild can also use members who will come to church on Thursdays to condition the flowers after they are delivered. We need to have at least 4 people sign up in order to hold the workshop. There is no cost and the only requirement is a love of flowers. Please contact Nino Shipp to sign up.

Taizé Pilgrimage June 7 – 18, 2012 with Philip Wiehe: Spend a week at Taizé, France, engaging in worship, Bible study, and personal reflection, plus some fun. The pilgrimage will depart Memphis the afternoon of Thursday, June 7, and arrive in Geneva, Switzerland, the next morning. We will then go to Cluny or Tournus near Taizé where we will stay Friday and Saturday nights, recover from jet lag, see the local sites, and enjoy French cuisine. On Sunday morning we will make the short journey to Taizé and arrive by 10 a.m. for the principal Sunday service. For the next week pilgrims engage in life in the Taizé community. We depart Taizé Sunday afternoon, June 17 and spend the night in Geneva before returning to Memphis. The cost is $2,200 for airfare, ground transportation in France, hotels in France and Geneva, room, board, and registration at Taizé. The deadline for reservations with a $15000 deposit is February 15, 2012. See the Taizé website and contact the Rev. Philip Wiehe, 525-6602, ext. 122 for all of the details.
