School Ministries

Carnes Elementary School

The core purpose of this ministry is to assist the staff and teachers at Carnes Elementary in maintaining the school’s high standards of education and to provide assistance to families of students.  Calvary volunteers are needed to serve as tutors and “storybook readers” for the younger children. 

Past activities by volunteers have included backpack and school supply drives, hosting of a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, and collecting Box Tops for Education and Christmas baskets to assist Carnes families in need.  In addition, Calvary has contributed outreach grant funding for the purchase of needed computers and other classroom equipment for Carnes students

Veritas College Preparatory School

Calvary’s ministry at Veritas aims to support the students and teachers of this charter school that opened in 2010 and is located in a Calvary-owned building. Much needed books for the library at Veritas are being provided by Calvary parishioners as a part of an ongoing book drive. As the school grows, Calvary volunteers are  needed as mentors.  Help is also needed to expedite the lunch service process.  Motivational speakers (one-time commitment) are also being sought by Veritas.  For more information, please contact Sue-Ann Ehmer.
