February 17, 2019: O salutaris hostia by Ēriks EŠenvalds
Sloan Huebner & Sarah Squire, sopranos
O saving Victim opening wide the gate of heaven to all below. Our foes press on from every side; thine aid supply, thy strength bestow, to thy great name be endless praise, immortal Godhead, One in Three. Oh, grant us endless length of days, in our true native land with thee. Amen. (St. Thomas Aquinas, 1225-1274)

Monday, July 30, Bristol Cathedral Residency, Bristol England: Prayer by René Clausen
Help me spread your fragrance wherever I go. Flood my soul with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that my life may be only a radiance of yours. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I know will feel your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me, but only you. Amen. (A prayer of Mother Teresa of Calcutta)

Tuesday, July 31, Bristol Cathedral Residency, Bristol, England:  Abenlied by Josef Rheinberger
(sung in German) Abide with us, for evening shadows darken, and the day will soon be over.

Wednesday, July 30, Bristol Cathedral Residency, Bristol England: Easter by Gary Davison
Michelle Pellay-Walker, viola
Rise, Heart; thy Lord is risen. Sing his praise without delayes. Who takes thee by the hand, that thou likewise with him may’st rise: that, as his death calcined thee to dust, His life may make thee gold, and much more, just. Awake, my lute, and struggle for thy part with all thy art. The crosse taught all wood to resound his name who bore the same. His stretched sinews taught all strings, what key is best to celebrate this most high day. Consort both heart and lute, and twist a song pleasant and long: or since all music is but three parts vied, and multiplied, O let thy blessed Spirit bear a part, and make up our defects with his sweet art. (George Herbert)

Saturday, August 4, Bristol Cathedral Residency, Bristol, England: Greater love hath no man by John Ireland
Maddie Hitching, treble; Isaac Noel, baritone
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it. Love is strong as death. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Who, his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness.  Ye are washed, ye are sanctified, ye are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation – that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Solomon 8:7, John 15:13, Peter 2:9, 24)
