YAM: Young Adult Ministries
The
YAMs are a community of seekers within Calvary Episcopal Church. The YAMs strive
to have inquiring and discerning hearts. We believe in questions more
than answers, pilgrimage as a spiritual practice and engagement as
a way of life. Come worship with us or participate in a pub theology
discussion!
Sunday Pub Theology
On the fourth Sunday each month, YAMs
get together for a Pub Theology discussion at a local restaurant. Pub
Theology is a great chance to
catch up with friends, make new ones, and enjoy a great theological
discussion. Your first Pub Theology lunch is free!
Community Service
The
YAMs participate in a variety of outreach projects from mission trips
to Mississippi or Honduras, to tutoring in the Memphis City Schools, to
ministry with the homeless. Here a couple of the young adults are
helping to prepare soup to sell on Soup Sunday to raise money for hunger ministries throughout Memphis.
Retreats, Canoe Trips and Parties
We make time for special
events and parties several times a year, like the Lenten retreat,
the August canoe trip on the Spring River and the Christmas Party.
